Actress Kathy Chow Hoi-Mei died at 57

On Monday (Dec 11), Kathy Chow died at the age of 57. Kathy Chow Hoi-mei was famous for playing Zhou Zhiruo in the 1994 TVB series The Heaven Sword and Dragon Saber.

Kathy Chow’s studio shared the news on Weibo Tuesday night, revealing that Chow lost her battle with an undisclosed illness. The studio expressed, “May there be no sickness in heaven, and may we meet again.”

Kathy Chow, who participated in the 1985 Miss Hong Kong competition, gained popularity as a leading actress in various TVB roles during the late 1980s and 1990s. These include The Feud Of Two Brothers (1986), Looking Back In Anger (1989), and Fight Back To School III (1993).

In 2003, she moved to Beijing, engaging in drama series and reality TV shows while occasionally returning to TVB productions.

Celebrating her 57th birthday on Dec 6, Kathy Chow expressed gratitude for well wishes in a Douyin video. However, rumors of her sudden passing started circulating on Monday.
