Eyes of Wakanda: Marvel Studios Animated Series 2024
Recently, Marvel invited folks to watch the first two episodes of the upcoming What If…? Season 2. It’s hitting Disney+ very soon. During this sneak peek, they didn’t just stop at that. Nope, they gave the audience a look at what cartoons they have planned for 2024. According to cool sources like Matt Ramos and POC Culture, Marvel showcased X-Men ’97, Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man (they changed it from Spider-Man: Freshman Year), and the brand-new Eyes of Wakanda. And guess what? Marvel also confirmed they’re definitely making a third season of What If…?
Eyes of Wakanda 2024
In the 2015 film Avengers: Age of Ultron, Marvel Studios first let us know that Wakanda is part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The character T’Challa, also known as Black Panther and played by the late Chadwick Boseman, made his MCU debut in the 2016 film Captain America: Civil War. After that, Boseman played the character again in Black Panther’s first solo film in 2018, directed by Ryan Coogler. This movie explored the African hero’s home nation in more detail.

Moving on, Boseman continued his role as Black Panther in 2018’s Avengers: Infinity War and 2019’s Avengers: Endgame. Even after his passing, he voiced T’Challa in the first season of What If…? in 2021. In 2022, Ryan Coogler returned to direct Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, where T’Challa’s sister, Shuri (played by Letitia Wright), takes on the Black Panther title.
In 2021, news came out that Coogler was working on a Wakanda-focused series for Disney+. As of now, it’s not clear if this series is the same as “Eyes of Wakanda” or a different project altogether.
Look forward to the premiere of “Eyes of Wakanda” on Disney+ in 2024.
