Jennifer Aniston’s Memories of Matthew Perry

Jennifer Aniston insists that Matthew Perry, her colleague from “Friends,” was content before his passing. She disclosed personal details about Perry’s final day, mentioning they exchanged text messages that morning.

“He expressed his desire to be remembered. He was content. He was in good health, having quit smoking and getting fit. All I know is, he was happy,” Aniston shared with Variety. “I was texting with him that morning, the funny Matty. He wasn’t in pain or struggling. He was happy.”

Law enforcement sources had previously confirmed to Fox News Digital that Perry had died from an apparent drowning on Oct. 28 at the age of 54.

“I want people to know he was genuinely healthy and actively working on it. He was on a journey,” Aniston expressed about her close friend. “He worked hard, facing challenging circumstances. I miss him a lot. We all do. He truly made us laugh.”

Aniston also commented on the numerous tributes dedicated to Perry since his sudden passing.

“It’s heartwarming,” she said. “I hope he can realize the love he never thought he had.”

Weeks after Perry’s demise, Aniston wrote a poignant tribute.

“Saying goodbye to our Matty has been an overwhelming rollercoaster of emotions I’ve never felt before. Loss is a universal experience, whether it’s the loss of life or love. Embracing this grief lets you cherish the moments of joy and gratitude for loving someone deeply. And we loved him deeply. He was an integral part of our lives. We were always the six of us,” she posted on Instagram, referring to the “Friends” cast.

“This was a chosen family that permanently altered our paths. For Matty, he knew he found joy in making people laugh. If he didn’t hear laughter, he felt like he might die, as he put it. His life depended on it, and he succeeded. He made all of us laugh, and laugh hard. In recent weeks, I’ve been revisiting our text messages, alternating between laughter and tears. I’ll cherish them forever. I stumbled upon a text he sent me out of the blue one day. It says it all,” she added, sharing a screenshot of a past exchange where Perry expressed how much it meant to him to make Aniston laugh.
