Mayim Bialik News Today: Mayim Bialik leaves Jeopardy!
Mayim Bialik news today: The famous quiz show, Jeopardy!, is making a big switch in its hosting team. Mayim Bialik, known for her roles in The Big Bang Theory and Blossom, shared on Instagram last Friday that she won’t be hosting the show anymore.
She became the permanent co-host alongside Jeopardy! legend Ken Jennings just last summer.
Bialik didn’t mention why she’s leaving the show but did express her thanks for the opportunity. In her Instagram post, she said, “I’m honored to be nominated for a primetime Emmy for hosting this year, and I’m grateful for being part of the Jeopardy! family. Thank you to everyone who supported me on this amazing journey—fans, contestants, writers, staff, and crew of America’s Favorite Quiz Show.”

Entertainment Weekly got confirmation from Sony that Jennings will be the only host for the upcoming season. Sony released a statement right after Bialik’s announcement, stating, “To keep things consistent for our viewers, we’ve decided to have one host for the syndicated show next season, and that will be Ken Jennings. We appreciate Mayim’s contributions to Jeopardy! and hope to continue working with her on primetime specials.”

This message was echoed by a studio spokesperson who added, “We’re truly thankful for all of Mayim’s contributions to Jeopardy!, and we look forward to collaborating with her on primetime specials.”
Bialik initially joined Jeopardy! as a guest host following the passing of the beloved host, Alex Trebek, in 2020. She was among the celebrities who took on the temporary hosting role, alongside Aaron Rodgers, the Green Bay Packers quarterback, and LeVar Burton, the host of Reading Rainbow.
In 2021, Sony announced Bialik and Mike Richards, the show’s executive producer, as permanent co-hosts. However, Richards stepped down after just one week of filming due to backlash over past offensive comments on a podcast. Jennings, holding records for the longest winning streak and highest winnings on Jeopardy!, stepped in as the co-host with Bialik.
