Rumors of a romantic connection between Pattinson and Waterhouse began in July 2018 when they were seen showing affection in public in London. Despite keeping a low profile and rarely discussing their relationship in public, their love story has continued to grow, and now they are ready for the next step.

Engagement rumors first circulated in early 2019 when Waterhouse was seen wearing a ring on that finger during a Dior dinner party in Paris, France, with Pattinson. However, the couple chose not to comment on the speculations.
In a February 2023 interview with The Sunday Times, Waterhouse expressed her surprise at being so happy with someone for almost five years. Despite their busy schedules, she revealed that the couple never goes more than two months without seeing each other.
“I’m shocked that I’m so happy with someone for nearly five years,” Waterhouse exclaimed. “I had two days off the other day, and it was like, no question I’m going back to see him.”
